Carers assessment, Adult Social Care –
For assessment of the physical, emotional and practical impact that caring can have on the carer’s life and to ensure that their needs are taken into account. Apart from offering general information, advice and signposting, the assessment is also used to find out if carers are eligible to receive services from adult social care.
Oasis for Carers –
Another well received service by carers; for talks, activities, relaxation, treatments and therapies, peer support opportunities.
There are many specific carers support groups/activities/information (for people caring for someonewith a mental health condition) sessions organised through organisations like Mind, Alzheimer’s Society, Rethink Carers Service and Beechwood Cancer Care, which can all be found on the council’s ‘My Care, My Choice’ website or alternatively carers can get information via Signpost for Carers () or FLAG (for Local Guidance and Advice – ).
