NHS Stockport CCG commissions a locality based service for the provision of 24hr blood pressure monitoring. The service is provided across Stockport at 6 GP practices.
The service aims to:
- Offer a 24 hour blood pressure diagnostic assessment and proposed treatment plan
- Diagnose patients with suspected hypertension in line with NICE guidance
- Provide a more clinically effective blood pressure test for long term prognosis
- Reduce the potential for over treatment in cases of ‘white coat’ hypertension
